Teri Suddard

Teri Suddard, EA

Born in Delaware, Teri Suddard attended Thomas McKean High School before graduating from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in Business Administration. Although she has owned a popular Wilmington restaurant, the majority of her professional life has been dedicated to tax preparation and accounting services. Teri has worked for National Income Tax Service since 1985, and has served as President since 1997 when her father, the founder of National Income Tax Service, retired.

With over 30 years of experience, Teri is committed to providing affordable, and personalized accounting and tax preparation services to individuals and small business owners. As an IRS enrolled Agent, Teri has earned the right to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, and focuses on honest, intelligent and ethical representation of taxpayers before the governmental agencies.

Teri lives in Newark, Delaware with her husband and two teenage sons. She is an active member and Treasurer of her church, is an honorary Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club, serves on the board of Family Promise, a non-profit community service charity, has studied martial arts and holds a first degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, and is a committee member of her sons’ Boy Scout Troop. Professionally she is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the National Association of Tax Preparers and is a Quickbooks ProAdvisor.

“Cindy”, an original “Jersey Girl”, moved to Delaware in 1973. She graduated from John Dickinson High School in ’79 and then from The University of Delaware with a degree in Criminal Justice. Utilizing her natural leadership skills throughout her professional career, she climbed the management ladder in a variety of businesses. In 2005, with over 25 years of experience in upper management, Cindy brought her organizational and vast managerial skills to assist in the operations of the 3 National Income Tax locations.

Over the past 9 years, Cindy has completed extensive courses to become proficient in individual tax preparation and bookkeeping to better serve National Tax and its clients. She currently is associated with the National Association of Tax Preparers (NATP), Accounting and Financial Professionals (AAFP) and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).

Cindy’s life outside of work revolves around her family and friends, supporting her daughter in Special Olympics, serving her Community Board of Directors and whenever possible, cruising the high seas or just relaxing on the back deck with her dog, a book and a beer.

By the way,……..Cindy’s smile is contagious and this woman’s special skill is “making the world a ???? place”. Clients and employees couldn’t agree more. Come on in and see for yourself!

 

Seasonal Preparers

 

Barbara Taylor, AFSP

After graduating from the University of Delaware in 1972, Barbara began a 28 year career with the Social Security Administration.  She served in a variety of technical, administrative, and management positions in eight locations across three states.  She retired in 2000 as Area Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania, when her husband’s career took them to Brussels, Belgium.  During her four years in Belgium, Barbara worked as an IRS volunteer tax preparer at the U.S. consulate, did the financial reporting for the American Women’s Club of Brussels tea room, and served as pledge recorder for her church.

After returning to the U.S., Barbara joined the National Income Tax team in 2005.  She passed the IRS registered preparer’s test and completes continuing education credit each year to ensure she provides complete and accurate service to her clients.  In the “off season” she enjoys sailing the Chesapeake Bay with her husband.

 

Marlin C. Figard, EA

After his military service, Marlin moved to Newark, DE. He graduated from Goldey-Beacon College with a degree in Business Administration and a major in accounting. After graduation, Marlin worked for a local CPA firm for 22 years. In 2006, Marlin joined the National Income Tax team. Marlin also serves as a Notary Public, has been an Enrolled Agent since 1986, and is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Preparers.

With over 35 years of tax experience, Marlin has prepared individual, fiduciary, corporate, and partnership returns as well as Federal Estate returns. Marlin has also prepared trust accountings filed with the Register in Chancery, and has prepared Estate Inventory forms and Final Account forms filed with the Register of Will. When employed by the CPA firm, Marlin also handled IRS audits.
Marlin lives in Newark with his wife. He is active in his church and has an interest in International Mission work. Marlin’s mission trips have taken him to ten countries on three different continents and to the Caribbean.

 

Joseph Ciano, AFSP

Joe is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Delaware Technical and Community College. After serving for three years in the Military, Joe worked for DuPont and retired from there after 40 years of service.

Joe began working for National Income Tax Service in 2004 after taking National’s Income Tax Course. Joe passed the IRS Registered Preparer’s Test and completes yearly continuing education requirements to maintain his AFSP status with the IRS.
An avid Philadelphia sports fan, during the off season Joe enjoys watching sporting events, completing household renovations and spending time with his family and grandson.
